I met Toby Moores last year at Office 2.0, and we discussed the creative collaboration work he was doing at DeMontfort University in Leicester. Over the last year, we’ve kept in touch, and I recruited him to participate in a panel at this year’s Office 2.0 conference on “Culture and Collaboration,” on how to unleash new models of engagement and interaction to foster innovation and creativity.
Toby and David Terrar are launching Creative Coffee Clubs in the UK this month, and I’m looking to catalyze similar klatches here in the San Francisco Bay Area. The idea is to foster dialogue and exploration across fields and disciplines, to engage not only those involved in high tech, but academic fields, creative industries, government.
The first Bay Area event is targeted at the Cafe Baronne in Menlo Park, not to far from the Stanford campus and next door to regionally famous Kepler’s Books on October 3. The second will be a week later at a cafe to be determined in San Francisco.
Stay tuned!
